Contents Page powerpoint

Contents Page

This is my contents page, again I like it because its a simple design and doesn't look too busy, you can read it clearly and the image used is a happy bright one.

Magazine Cover

This is my finished magazine cover. I am pretty pleased with it, I used my own imagery and my own ideas. I like it because although its not a busy cover its eyegrabbing from the pictures used and the masthead.

Magazine Research

Who's Jack Magazine

I chose this magazine because I think although its a simple design - its elegant.
The model is in the middle making her the main feature - by doing this the editors grab the audiences attention because she is obviously someone who is into high fashion.
The magazine's name is also a simple design but because it is a dark colour on a light background it works well and stands out clearly.
There are no cover stories on the sides which although rare works well for this magazine. It allows audiences/readers to focus just on the model and the magazine name. By doing this the magazine is memorable.

Magazine Research

Lumine Style

I chose this magazine because it's fashion orientated yet shows a dark side to it.
I like the layout because you can see the models face clearly - which interested me because of her make-up.
It has a clear heading - stands out which is always good as this attracts audiences to it which will interest more readers.
I also like the clear cover stories across the left hand side - they stand out which will grab the target audiences attention.

CD Back Cover

This is my cd back cover final design.
It uses the same background and has the same writing. I think if I had used two different backgrounds it would have looked too messy and too busy.
The barcode had to be included obviously, I think if I had put it anywhere else it wouldn't have looked right. It sits nicely inbetween the corner and the bands name.
Although I only created a small amount of songs it looks like an album cover because it doesn't look too crowded.
I used the flower pattern because I think it added an extra tint of girlyness and is swirly also like "tained gladrags"

Finished Cd Cover

This is my finished cd cover.
I used a mix of colours as said; the two contrasting colours reflect the bands name. I used the pink lips and the high fashioned outfits to reflect and attract the young women fans but used the music notes and dark background to attract and reflect the rock and indie fans.
I think "tainted gladrags" has a mixture of both genre's/styles.
The writing is swirly - girly but it is has an edge of almost gothic in because it looks stained; corrupted.
I made the music notes have a drop/outer shadow around them so they wouldn't look so harsh on-top of the background.

Moodboard For CD Design Project

This is my moodboard for my cd design project: I have used a mix of images all through different styles. For example a mix of girly (butterfly;shoes) then music (guitar;music note)
I think by doing this it shows the different genre's of the band. It has an edge of girlyness yet rock to it.
The name of the band reflects this.

CD Design Project - Design Brief

Design brief

Band name: Tainted Gladrags
The name is a mix of a girly/ female name and tainted which suggests it is stained or corrupted showing both sides of the band.

Target audience demographic:
·         Teenagers/ young adults.
·         Indie style, pop, rock
·          Playing instrument,
·         Indie, girly,

Imagery and colour schemes:
·         Mixture – contrasts, shows both sides of the band
·         Bright colours
·         Dark colours

Typeface/ font styles:
I want to use a variety of fonts. They need to be edgy to reflect the band – not to harsh and not too soft, perhaps almost a swirly sort of font.
